Common name:Old Man Cactus
Botanical name:Cephalocereus senilis

This cactus can grow large, 20-50', but grows very slowly. Long, white bristles cover the skin and give it the look of white hair. Rose colored blooms nestle in the bristles. Requires excellent drainage but otherwise and effortless cactus in the garden.

Evergreen shrub that grows quickly to 6' x 6'. With support it can be trained as vine. The leaves are dark green and glossy. The vivid orange-red tubular flowers appear year-round in frost-free weather. Can tolerate full sun or part shade. Attracts hummingbirds. Native to South Africa.

Bell Flower Hesperaloe

Common name:Bell Flower Hesperaloe
Botanical name:Hesperaloe campanulata

An attractive, smaller-sized accent that will reach about 3' x 3'. Plants do best in full sun and in well-drained soil. Stiff 1/2" wide leaves have marginal white fibers. Showy flower stalks with light pink blooms provide interest in spring and summer. Has an extremely long flowering period. Flowers attract hummingbirds. Native in Nuevo Leon, Mexico.
