Common name:Deer Grass
Botanical name:Muhlenbergia rigens

Mounding grass that grows quickly to 4' x 4'. Leaves are medium green and turns tan in fall. Tall flower spikes appear in fall they start out green and dry to tan. Accepts full sun or partial shade. Very frost tolerant. This is a versatile grass with lush foliage and interesting flowers. Great for softening a landscape. Native to the southwest U.S. and Mexico.

Buckhorn Cholla

Common name:Buckhorn Cholla
Botanical name:Cylindropuntia acanthocarpa

Evergreen shrublike cactus grows at a moderate rate to 4' x 5'. Stems are medium green and covered in yellow spines. Flowers are red to yellow and appear in spring. Makes an effective security barrier. Plant away from high traffic areas. Jointed stems break off easily and form new plants. Accepts reflected heat. Native to the Sonoran and Mojave deserts.

Trailing Lantana

Botanical name:Lantana montevidensis

Evergreen ground cover grows quickly to 2' x 3'. Leaves are medium green and flowers are lavender to white. Blooms year-round in frost free weather. Excellent for spilling over walls or down banks. Full sun. Very attractive to butterflies. Native of South America.
