Common name:Indian Fig
Botanical name:Opuntia ficus-indica

Cactus grows at a moderate rate to 12' x 18'. Usually have no spines. Flowers are yellow to orange and appear in spring. Fruit is edible. Accepts full sun. When they are young, the pads, or mopales of this cactus are used to make a delicious salsa. Treelike scuptural qualities.

Botanical name:Melampodium leucanthum

Small mounding perennial grows quickly to 1' x 2'. White daisylike flowers with yellow centers cover the plant nearly year-round The leaves are narrow and gray-green. Accepts full sun or partial shade but blooms better in the sun. Bright and colorful groundcover. Plant in well-drained soil. Native to the southwest U.S. and Mexico.

Botanical name:Linum grandiflorum 'Rubrum'

Desert annual grows to 2' x 2'. Bright red flowers appaer in spring. Sow seeds in the fall for spring color. Will need to sow seeds annually.
